Today, Feb. 19, is the 75th birth anniversary of National Artist for Music Francisco Feliciano. Born in 1941, Feliciano was a composer, conductor, and educator. He obtained a master鈥檚 degree in composition from the University of the Philippines and a master鈥檚 and a doctorate degree in composition from the Yale School of Music. Among his notable works are 鈥淟a Loba Negra,鈥� 鈥淧okpok Alimpako,鈥� and the ballet piece 鈥淵erma.鈥� Feliciano was named National Artist in June 2014 and died a few months after on Sept. 19 that year.聽Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
