Comelec eyes starting May 9 polls at 6 a.m.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) plans to begin the voting hours an hour earlier than originally scheduled in order to accommodate the printing of voter verification receipts.

Comelec commissioner Christian Lim, speaking at the hearing of the Joint Congressional Oversight Committee on the Automated Election System, said the new proposed voting hours are 6 am to 5 pm, instead of 7 am to 5 pm.
