Cop, 11 others hurt in Pangasinan jeep-van collision

DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines – Twelve people, including a policeman, were hurt on Friday night when a speeding passenger jeepney crashed into a van in Pozorrubio town, police said on Sunday.
Senior Inspector Ryan Manongdo, Pozorrubio police chief, said in a text message that the accident took place on the stretch of the Manila North Road in Barangay Alipangpang in Pozorrubio at about 10:55 p.m.

He said that the south-bound jeepney crashed into the north-bound van after it overtook another vehicle.
Manongdo identified the injured van passengers as Marciano Villareal, Adora Villareal, Regina Romano, Danilo Romano, Virgo Villareal, Roy Villareal, Lolita Gelilio, Jocelyn Villareal, Teresita Gelilio and a policeman, PO3 Floriad Villareal.
They were all taken to the Pozorrubio District Hospital but were transferred later to The Sacred Heart Hospital in Urdaneta City.
Also injured were jeepney passengers Pina Yucceda and Helen Pascua.
Manongdo said the jeepney driver, Jaime Domincel, is now facing cases of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injury and damage to property.
