Duterte wants Poe as tourism or DSWD secretary, Robredo ‘assistant president’
SAN MIGUEL, Bulacan—Poll front runner Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte would appoint his rival Sen. Grace Poe as cabinet secretary under his administration if he wins in the May elections.
During a campaign sortie here, Duterte was asked on his opinion after he has been the target of criticisms from his rivals.
“Of course, I have overtaken them. I am now number one,” he told reporters in an interview.

Duterte was referring to the latest Social Weather Stations and the Pulse Asia survey where he gained the solo lead over erstwhile frontrunner Poe.

Article continues after this advertisementAsked if he was inclined to appoint any of his rivals to a cabinet position should he win, he said he would appoint Poe as a social welfare or tourism secretary.
He, however, reiterated his opposition to the Supreme Court decision allowing Poe to run as president.
He also said that he wanted Camarines Sur Rep. Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo to be part of his Cabinet as an “assistant president.”
He clarified that the position would not mean Robredo would take the position of a vice president.
The tough-talking mayor, however, did not elaborate his statement.
Robredo is the running mate of the administration’s bet Manuel “Mar” Roxas II whose numbers in survey have been fluctuating.
Robredo meanwhile have seen a steady rise in her survey ratings contrary to Duterte’s tandem, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, who continues to trail behind. TVJ
