Senator Alan Peter Cayetano took a swipe at the outgoing administration, attributing the long lines at polling precincts as a reflection of the government’s failure to ease traffic congestion in Metro Manila.

Cayetano, who is running for vice president, and his wife Taguig City Mayor Lani were among those who fell in line and waited for their turn to vote at their precinct in Sta. Teresa Elementary School at Barangay Bagumbayan here.

They took about an hour and a half to cast their ballots.

“Much more pleasant, mas maaliwalas. Kaya lang maaga pa so ang nakita kong problema, pagmabilis bumoto nagtatrapik dun sa makina,” Cayetano told reporters after voting. “Hindi ko alam kung talagang magaling sa trapik yung administrasyon na ‘to o kung kulang lang talaga sa makina o kung ano man.”

Cayetano insisted the same won’t happen under the governance of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte should the presidential frontrunner end up in Malacañang.

“Pero eto po yung sinasabi ni mayor Duterte na wag mong papilahin ang Filipino so hopefully this is the last elections na kumpleto naman ang technology pero hassle pa rin,” Cayetano said. “Pero to be fair sa Comelec ngayon, mas faster din ‘to especially nung 2010.”
