(Updated) Dismissed Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Alan Purisima was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal-3 on Friday afternoon upon his arrival from Butuan City.
The arrest warrant was served by the PNP-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
鈥淐IDG personnel carried out arrest, he will be brought to Sandiganbayan from airport,鈥� said CIDG director Victor Deona.
On Thursday, Purisima and ten others were ordered arrested by the Sandiganbayan over a questionable contract with a startup after finding probable cause to proceed with their trial for graft.
