A SUDDEN downpour on Monday night flooded some parts of聽Metro Manila, causing traffic jams and stranding passengers rushing home.
At past 8 p.m., the state weather agency said a聽thunderstorm was affecting聽Metro Manila particularly in Quezon City, Paranaque, Taguig, Makati, Pasay, Manila, Mandaluyong, Pasig and Marikina which could last for 2 hours.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority issued flood warnings to advise motorists which roads were passable and impassable.
鈥淎s of 8:31 PM, Pasong Tamo Tunnel Magallanes both direction. Waist deep. Not passable to all types of vehicles,鈥� MMDA said in a Twitter post.
It added that as of 8:31 p.m., 鈥淓dsa Taft Rotonda Savemore south band has gutter deep floodwaters but 鈥減assable to all types of vehicles.鈥�
Traffic in some parts of Edsa was heavy following the downpour.

Stranded passengers took to Twitter to vent their frustrations.
