DIGOS CITY – Unidentified suspects fired at the house of a radio political commentator here early Friday but no one was injured.

Marland Malnegro of Gold FM told police investigators that they were awakened by a “loud bang” past 1 a.m. When they checked, they saw the glass panel in one of their house’s windows shattered.

“We thought somebody just threw a stone or something that broke (the window’s glass). We immediately informed the police about the incident and they quickly responded,” Malnegro, a resident of Paradise Subdivision in Barangay Tres de Mayo, said.

Malnegro said it was apparent that the incident was the result of his being a radio political commentator but added that he won’t be cowed by any act of intimidation.

“I am just doing my job as a journalist. It is an act of cowardice aimed to stop me from disclosing wrongdoings,” Malnegro said. CDG/rga
