Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada urged the city鈥檚 public school teachers to be active peace agents during a forum held at city hall on Tuesday.
According to Estrada, teachers do not only develop the youth鈥檚 academic skills but also 鈥渃ultivate in their young minds the value of keeping peace and abhorring any forms of conflicts.鈥�
At 鈥淭he Struggle for Just and Lasting Peace鈥� forum held by the Manila Public School Teachers Association, he said that teachers who 鈥渞epresent the best of the Manile帽o鈥� excel as 鈥渆ducators.鈥�
At the same time, Estrada also urged them to 鈥渆xcel as advocates for students and teachers rights and welfare, and as responsible citizens doing their share for the cause of peace.鈥�
