CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines鈥擳wo unidentified bodies were found dumped beside an irrigation canal in Nueva Ecija鈥檚 Rizal town on Thursday morning.
Hours later, a policeman was shot dead in San Leonardo town.
The bodies were hogtied and bore multiple gunshot wounds when discovered along the main canal in Barangay (village) Aglipay at 6 a.m., police said.
Two pieces of cardboard were found near one of the bodies, with the inscriptions 鈥淢amamatay ako huwag tularan (I am about to die don鈥檛 emulate me) and 鈥淧usher ako huwag tularan (I am a pusher, don鈥檛 emulate me).鈥�
At 9 a.m., gunmen ambushed and killed PO2 Michael Juan, 42, San Anton village. Juan was driving a motorcycle when he was attacked 300 meters from his home, said SPO2 Napoleon Manabat, who is investigating the murder.
The police have yet to determine why Juan was targeted, Manabat said./rga
