The signature of slain Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. in his affidavit linking various personalities to illegal drugs has been forged, his son said in a draft affidavit.
Senator Panfilo 鈥淧ing鈥 Lacson said Kerwin Espinosa鈥檚 claim was contained in the draft affidavit that was submitted to the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs, which he chairs.
Kerwin is expected to appear at Wednesday鈥檚 resumption of the committee hearing on the mayor鈥檚 killing inside his detention cell at the provincial jail last November 5.
鈥淪i Kerwin sinasabi n鈥檡a na hindi totoo ang affidavit ng kanyang father so parang binalewala n鈥檡a 鈥榶un, ang sinasabi n鈥檡a ito talaga na totoo (Kerwin said that that affidavit did not come from his father, essentially disowning it. What he鈥檚 saying is this one is the true affidavit),鈥 Lacson told reporters.
鈥淗e even denied the signature of the mayor. Sabi n鈥檡a hindi 鈥榶un ang pirma ng tatay n鈥檡a (He said that is not the signature of his father),鈥 the senator added.
The mayor reportedly tagged in his affidavit Senator Leila de Lima and more than 200 government, military, police and judicial personnel into the illegal drug trade of his son.
