Three of the fatalities were described in QCPD reports as garbage collectors—who apparently had the means to acquire firearms.

Investigation showed that David surrendered in July under Oplan Tokhang but continued using drugs. He was also being linked to robberies and motorcycle thefts in Novaliches.

The police found a sachet of shabu in David’s pocket.

Three hours later, in Barangay Bagong Silangan, garbage collectors Jerry Baldoza and Ronaldo Morales were killed also in a buy-bust operation, the QCPD said.

A “shootout” erupted between the suspects and the officers, killing Morales on the spot.

Baldoza managed to run to his house but was also shot dead by pursuing officers.
