BATANGAS CITY, Philippines—A housewife was shot dead by four unidentified men in a robbery at a private subdivision in Lipa City in Batangas province Tuesday night, police said Wednesday.

Supt. Carlos Barde, Lipa City police chief, said the armed suspects entered the house of the victim Alexandra Mazloum, 44, in La Finca Subdivision in barangay (village) Dagatan at around 8:30 p.m.

The victim chanced upon the suspects and tried to escape but was shot on the face. She died while being taken to Medix Medical Center in Lipa City while the robbers escaped, carting away a safety box, cellphones, bags and cash of undetermined amount.

He also said that aside from robbery, they will look into other possible motives since Mazloum was sharing the house with 11 children who were at home during the robbery. Some were her kids but others were her husband’s children with a Syrian wife.

Other occupants of the house were unharmed, including the maid. Barde said they were in separate rooms while the robbery was happening. TVJ
