The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said it will soon reveal the details of its new anti-insurgency campaign strategy, the Development Support and Security Plan Kapayapaan (DSSP).
鈥淲e are going to make that public kasi nothing in that document is pwedeng sabihin na source of concern for anyone,鈥� AFP public affairs chief Col. Edgard Arevalo told reporters on Tuesday.
Militant group Bagong Alyansang Makabayan has urged the military to bare the details of the new campaign plan that was launched last week. The DSSP replaced the Internal Peace Security Plan (IPSP) Bayanihan which was implemented for six years and ended last Dec. 31.

Bayan questioned whether the new campaign plan would continue the supposed 鈥渕ilitarization鈥� of communities.
AFP chief Gen. Eduardo Ano earlier said there was 鈥渘othing to fear鈥� about the new campaign plan, which he describes as the 鈥渟equel鈥� of the IPSP. The previous strategy focused on non-combat dimension and developmental programs in dealing with security threats.
Militant groups have previously claimed that IPSP Bayanihan has resulted in human rights violations in indigenous communities. RAM/rga
