CEU grad tops dentistry exams; 4 UP students in top 10

MANILA — A Centro Escolar University graduate topped the recently held dentist licensure examination in Manila, while University of the Philippines alumni swept four out of the other top 10 places.

Allan Fred Garcia Camungol of the Makati campus bested the 609 who took the practical phase of the examination early January, after garnering an 84.3 percent rating.

Patricia Mae Mabiog Zara of UP Manila got second place, with a score of 84.10 percent, while fellow UP Manila graduates Rea Angeli Tapales Tedor, Emma Aleli Dizon Alonday, and Fatima Mae Delima Gilbuena got fifth, seventh and eighth, respectively.

Their respective scores were 83.7 percent, 83.6 percent and 83.53 percent.

In third place was Mark Cameron Jabile Acub of the University of the East-Manila, and in fourth was April Lorraine Yap Ramos of the Cebu Doctors University.

Edward Louie Montanez Barroso of CEU-Makati was in sixth place, with 83.63 percent.

Iloilo Doctors College graduates Edmar Dela Cruz Bellingan and Jazreel Anne Rentillo got the ninth and 10th places, with 83.4 percent and 83.23 percent, respectively.

The Professional Regulation Commission said that out of the 1,150 who took the written phase of the examination in December 2016, 605 passed.

The PRC has announced that registration for the issuance of a professional identification card and a certificate of registration will be done online.

It said successful examinees should personally register and sign in the roster of registered professionals. SFM/rga
