Rookie drug pushers now at work in Lucena – police

LUCENA CITY – Newly recruited drug pushers are now creeping into action in Lucena City and police arrested a suspected neophyte drug peddler in a buy-bust operation early Wednesday
Supt. Arturo Brual Jr., Lucena police chief, said operatives from the newly composed local anti-drug unit nabbed Clarito Garcia, alias “Ito,” after he sold a sachet of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) to an undercover policeman in an operation in Barangay (village) Cotta around 1 a.m. Police seized three small plastic sachets of shabu worth P2,300 from the suspect.
“He is a newly recruited drug pusher,” Brual said in a phone interview.
Police operatives revealed that the renewed police operation against drug suspects has been focusing on the new group of drug pushers.
“They replaced the network of drug pushers that have already surrendered to the government,” said one intelligence officer who requested anonymity. He said most neophyte drug peddlers in the street “were after the easy money and free shabu.”
“They have yet to realize that they were only being used by the syndicate,” he said. SFM
