The Holy Week weather is not sunny just yet.
Amid the heat, don鈥檛 forego the umbrella over the summer break just yet, as the state weather bureau forecasts cloudy skies or isolated rainshowers even in tourist destinations across the country this Holy Week.
In its weekly weather outlook from聽April 7 to April 14, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecast shows partly cloudy mornings and cloudy afternoons and evenings, with chances of some isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms, in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Pagasa also warned of moderate to occasionally rough seas over the eastern seaboards of the country.
According to Pagasa, this is due to the ridge of a high pressure area and the easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific. No tropical cyclones are expected to develop or enter the Philippine area of responsibility this week.
鈥淭his weather condition will persist until the duration of the forecast period,鈥� or until聽Friday, Pagasa said.
Partly cloudy skies and isolated rainshowers likewise pepper Pagasa鈥檚 weeklong weather outlook for selected tourist areas. The forecast issued聽on Monday covers favorite destinations in Vigan, Anilao, Puerto Galera, Naga City, El Nido, Boracay, Bohol, Cebu, Camiguin and Davao.
Wet or cooler weather is expected in upland areas, such as 鈥渟ummer capital鈥� Baguio and Banaue, for which Pagasa predicts partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers all weeklong. Air temperatures in these areas over the week are forecast to range from 15掳C to 26掳C.
But Pagasa predicts the same weeklong weather for Naga, Bohol, Cebu, Camiguin and Davao, with these areas forecast to even experience cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms in the latter part of the week or聽on Thursday聽or聽Friday.
