SAN PEDRO CITY—A 14-year-old boy, believed to be one of those who went missing at the height of tropical storm “Maring,” was found dead in a river in Calamba City in Laguna province Wednesday.

A report from the Laguna police office said the body, later identified by the child’s parents as Lawrence Murillo from Barangay Mapagong, was recovered around 6 a.m. along the San Cristobal River.

Murillo was one of the six persons who went missing after their home was swept away by the strong river current. The death of the teenager brings the typhoon death toll to six.

Rommel Palacol of the Laguna Action Center said search operation continues for the other victims. /jpv
