A bomb threat in Miriam College in Quezon City turned out to be negative, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar disclosed on Wednesday.
Eleazar said members of the city police鈥檚 Explosive Ordinance Division (EOD) conducted a thorough 鈥減aneling鈥 of the campus and yielded negative results.
鈥淓OD paneling ended at 8 a.m. No IED found,鈥 he said.
According to Eleazar, Miriam College sought their assistance on Tuesday night after receiving a bomb threat through a text message.
Eleazar, however, described as 鈥渞egular鈥 the bomb threat received by the school, as it turned out negative even as police still have no information where the threat came from.
The bomb threat has prompted Miriam College to suspend classes and work on Wednesday.
Even if the preliminary inspection made by the school鈥檚 security found nothing suspicious, Miriam College鈥檚 management 鈥渄eems it necessary to suspend classes and work in all units鈥 to allow experts to conduct complete assessment of the school property along Katipunan Avenue.
鈥淧olice authorities will undertake a more thorough inspection of the campus to ensure everyone鈥檚 safety,鈥 the management said in a statement posted聽on its Facebook page Tuesday night.
