DID YOU KNOW: Philippine-British Friendship Day

By virtue of Proclamation No. 1592 signed on Aug. 20, 2008 by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the celebration of Philippine-British Friendship Day was moved from Dec. 7 to Oct. 20. The change of date was requested by then UK Ambassador to the Philippines Peter Beckingham so it can coincide with the inauguration of the new British Embassy at McKinley Hill in Taguig City. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
