Magdalo lawmaker Gary Alejano called on the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday to investigate a supposed recent riot inside the maximum security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) where two prisoners were killed and 12 others were wounded.
Alejano said he 鈥渞eceived information鈥� that the prisoners sustained multiple gunshot and stab wounds during the incident.
鈥淚 received information that some days ago, 2 prisoners of the New Bilibid Maximum Security Prison were killed and 12 were admitted in the prison hospital after receiving multiple gunshot and stab wounds,鈥� Alejano said in a statement.
The former Marine soldier said he was also 鈥渢ipped-off about a plan to instigate a riot inside the prison that would serve as grounds to kill-off a number of inmates.鈥�
If the reports are true, Alejano said he would urge the House justice committee or other committees concerned to investigate the incident.聽聽聽聽 /kga
