President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday announced he would abolish an entire commission on Monday due to prevalence of corruption in that agency.
Duterte, however, refused to name what government agency he was referring to but come Monday the directive will be released.
鈥淲alang corruption鈥� Corruption is really pulling us down. Kaya sa akin, even a whiff, bulong bulungan lang, o tumanggap ka you鈥檙e fired. Maging totoo. Pag natsismis ka,鈥� he said in a speech during his visit in Malolos, Bulacan.
鈥淣ow on Monday, I will fire one commission mismo, lahat sila (All of them). Wala akong pakialam kung nakisali isa, dalawa, tatlo (I don鈥檛 care if it involves one, two, three). You have to go out. Because I think it will cease without your knowledge bakit mag-ganun. Wala akong patawad-tawad (I don鈥檛 have mercy for that),鈥� he added.
Duterte gave this hint as the government heightened its war against corruption and corrupt officials in public office. /jpv
