PRC helps over 600 devotees in Traslacion 2018

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has assisted over 600 devotees, including more than 200 people who sustained minor injuries, as the Traslacion draws near to its endpoint, the Quiapo Church.

In its 1 p.m. report on Tuesday, the PRC said that from the 652 patients it helped, 240 sustained minor injuries, 245 experienced high blood pressure while 22 were considered major cases with two of them transported to hospitals.

A witness told ºÚÁÏÉç that a 17-year old boy who fell from the carriage was brought to Makati Medical Center after complaining of dizziness and feebleness.

As for the 240 individuals with minor injuries, the PRC said 62 of them suffered abrasions; 146, lacerations; 17, dizziness; while the others complained of sprain, body pain, fever, toothache, abdominal pain, and vomiting.

In addition, the PRC said that of 22 major cases reported, 19 individuals suffered difficulty in breathing while three sustained fracture.

The Black Nazarene’s Traslacion 2018 kicked off by 5:07 a.m., leaving the Quirino Grandstand for Quiapo Church.

As of 2:33 p.m., the image of the Black Nazarene has already passed through the Sta. Cruz Church and will proceed towards Palanca Street.       /kga
