Cargo truck plows into 3 motorcycles; 4 persons dead
KIDAPAWAN CITY–Four persons were killed when a wayward cargo truck plowed into three motorcycles along the national highway in Makilala, North Cotabato on Thursday.
Melvin Fortajada, chair of Barangay Patulangon in Makilala, said the victims had not been identified but one of them was a female. He said they were on the three motorcycles that the truck had hit.
“The victims were unaware of the wayward truck before it hit them,” Fortajada said, adding that the truck and the three motorbikes were moving in the same direction.
Fortajada said the truck driver had told residents, who witnessed the incident, before fleeing the accident area that he lost control of the truck as his brakes malfunctioned.
