SAN PEDRO CITY鈥揂 suspected robber was killed, while his companion escaped following a shootout with the police in Bacoor City, Cavite.
Supt. Francisco Luce帽a III, Bacoor police chief, said they have not yet identified the slain suspect in the shootout that took place between 11:30 p.m. Monday and before 1 a.m. Tuesday in Barangay Molino 3.
Before the shootout, Luce帽a said patrolling policemen came across a man running out on the street along Molino Boulevard. The man, later identified as Luisito Pangilin, told the police that he was held up by two men on a motorcycle. Pangilin said one of them, wearing a sky blue jacket and a bull cap, held a gun and forced him to give his motorcycle.
Luce帽a said police immediately set up a checkpoint in Barangay Molino 3.
鈥淭he cops were about to approach the suspects when they suddenly opened fire,鈥� he said.
He said the police retaliated killing one, while the other man escaped.
The police was able to recover Pangilin鈥檚 motorcycle.#
