DID YOU KNOW: DOH record 3,549 HFMD cases in 2017

From January to December 2017, there were 3,594 confirmed hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD) cases recorded nationwide, according to the Department of Health.

The number of confirmed cases was 371 percent higher compared to the 763 cases reported during the same period in 2016.

Of the confirmed cases, 2,083, or 58 percent, were males while 1,511, or 42 percent, were females. —Marielle Medina
