Members of the Pasig City Police arrested a man who tried to shoot a 15-year-old boy with a broken pistol in Barangay Bambang on Saturday before dawn.
The suspect, identified as Benjie Eugenio, greeted his victim 鈥淕abi na, nasa labas ka pa鈥� [it鈥檚 late at night, are you still going out?] at around 1:20 a.m. along JB Miguel Street before pointing a gun to his forehead.
鈥淰ictim (was) shocked when (the) suspect (was) pointing a gun to his forehead. (The suspect) fired twice but the gun malfunctioned,鈥� the police report said.
Following the incident, the victim sought assistance from elements of the Pasig City Police Community Precinct 3, who then apprehended the suspect.
Charges for violation of RA 7610 or the 鈥淪pecial Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act鈥� were being prepared against the suspect in line with his inquest proceeding. /jpv
