DID YOU KNOW: 1 in 4 of married women have suffered domestic violence
According to the preliminary findings of the 2017 National Demographic and Health Survey released by the Philippine Statistics Authority, one in four or 26 percent of ever-married women aged 15 to 49 have experienced physical, sexual or emotional violence by their husband or partner.
Ever married refers to people who have been married at least once in their lives although their current marital status may not be married.
Twenty percent of ever-married women have experienced emotional violence, 14 percent have experienced physical violence while five percent have experienced sexual violence by their husband or partner. —Marielle Medina
