Sultan Kudarat cops hunt 3 for slay of couple

ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat – Police authorities in Lutayan town said a manhunt was launched for three men who have reportedly killed a couple there on Sunday.

Senior Inspector Herman Luna, the Lutayan town police chief, said the armed men who shot dead Jose Ballon and his wife, Marissa, were allegedly led by a Naga Mangudadatu.

Based on investigation, Luna said Mangudadatu and two others went to the couple’s house in Barangay Tamnag in Lutayan and demanded to be paid of the money they owed him.

He said witnesses heard gunshots before seeing Mangudadatu, a noted moneylender, and his companions hastily flee.
