Senator Francis 鈥淜iko鈥� Pangilinan said this听on Wednesday听when sought for听comment on the order of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for Australian nun Patricia Fox to leave the Philippines听within 30 days听for听violating听the conditions听of her stay here.

鈥淭his deportation of a 71-year old, ailing nun is most deplorable,鈥� Pangilinan, president of听the Liberal Party, said in a text message.
鈥淭he act is not a sign of strength it is in fact a sign of weakness,鈥澨齢e added.
Pangilinan said听the alleged harassments听of听human rights advocates and faith-based organizations and individuals 鈥渕ay succeed in the short run but it will eventually fail.鈥�
鈥淕estapo like tactics will only strengthen the people鈥檚 resolve to resist. Hitler鈥檚 1000 years of the Third Reich ended just after a few years,鈥� Pangilinan noted.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier admitted that听he himself ordered the BI to have Fox investigated听supposedly for her 鈥渄isorderly conduct.鈥�
