The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has suspended more than 700 candidates in the 2018 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.
In a press briefing on Tuesday, acting Comelec chair Al Parre帽o said that the poll body suspended 729 candidates who were reported to have committed electoral offenses.
鈥淲e have suspended approximately 729 candidates. We are still determining as to how many of them actually won in the elections,鈥� Parre帽o told reporters.
鈥淚f they won, isu-suspend ang proclamation nila (we will suspend their proclamation),鈥� the Comelec official said. /ee
