The ouster of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno by her own peers in the Supreme Court is an internal affair of the Philippine judiciary.
And what right has the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) to say that Sereno鈥檚 removal from office was unjustified?
That鈥檚 interference, plain and simple.
One wonders if the ICJ would interfere if the US Supreme Court dismissed its own chief justice for an offense similar to Sereno鈥檚, for instance?
The Philippine Supreme Court should raise a dirty finger at the ICJ.

The plunder trial of former Immigration Deputy Commissioners Al Argosino and Michael Robles will proceed, the Sandiganbayan has ruled.
The case is in connection with the alleged P50-million payoff in exchange for the release of the undocumented Chinese workers of gaming tycoon Jack Lam in 2016.
Argosino and Robles were caught on video receiving the money from former police Senior Supt. Wally Sombero at the City of Dreams casino.
Sombero has also been charged along with Argosino and Robles.
For the life of me, why should Sombero, who was just the bagman, be included in the plunder charge?
He could have been charged with bribing government officials, but plunder?
I鈥檓 not a lawyer, but the Office of the Ombudsman, which included Sombero, made a big mistake in including Sombero.
I鈥檓 taking up the cudgels for Sombero who, I think, is completely innocent of the charge.

There are talks that Argosino and Robles were just following orders 鈥渇rom above鈥� when they received the huge amount.
But they have been prevailed upon by their fraternity 鈥渂rods鈥� at Lex Talionis not to talk, according to reliable sources.
Dismissed Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II, a member of the Lex Talionis, recommended Argosino and Robles to their positions.

And to think it was Villamil who was at fault: Riding on a bicycle, he hit the side mirror of his victims鈥� car; but instead of apologizing he punched the victims leading to a fight between him and the victims.
