MANILA, Philippines \u2014 A misdeclared package bound for another country containing powdery substance believed to be cocaine was intercepted by operatives in a cargo warehouse in Pasay City, police said on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Reports sent by the Philippine National Police (PNP) said that the contraband was found inside a warehouse along Andrews Avenue in Pasay City on Wednesday.\u00a0 According to the PNP, the package was declared as motorcycle parts and accessories \u2014 NMAX Pipe, Yamaha and Mio brake shoe, RS8 brake pad, Samco radiator hose.<\/p>\n
But during the operation led by the International Foreign Liaison Division with the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG), inspectors discovered what appeared to be cocaine worth P2.358 million.<\/p>\n
According to records, the cargo\u2019s receiver is a Hong Kong resident named Chan Yuen On,\u00a0 Meanwhile, a certain Jane Castro from Las Pi\u00f1as was responsible for sending it.<\/p>\n
PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said that teams are conducting a follow-up operation to trace the people responsible for the transaction.<\/p>\n
