GRACE Bostolits and Mayupay beat separate foes last Sunday for a clean 3-0 win-loss record and a share of the lead in the ongoing Upper Bayanihan Catholic Association (UBCA) Camp-2012 basketball tournament at the Quiot Sports Complex.<\/p>\n
Grace Bostolits nipped Punta, 94-92, while Mayupay edged Quiot, 86-84.<\/p>\n
Grace Bostolits was up by five, 24-19 in the opening period with Rey Petiluna scoring 14 points including four trifectas. But Punta outscored Bostolits in the third, 26-22 to grab a two-point lead, 70-68 entering the final canto.<\/p>\n
However, Grace Bostolits outscored Punta, 26-22 in the final period for the 2-point win.<\/p>\n
In the other game, Wendel Padillo had 17 points for Mayupay while Arnel Abellanosa and Danny Dela Pe\u00f1a combined for 23 points. Ronnie Ruiz and Eddie Roma paced Quiot with 22 and 18 points, respectively.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Suran routed winless OYAB, 94-72, for its 2nd win in four games with Allan Borces and Jun Pahamutang scoring 14 and 11 points, respectively. Budy Lawas and Ni\u00f1o Dela Cruz paced OYAB with 19 and 17 markers.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Dorothy Grace finally tasted its first win via default over winless Yati.
