MANILA, Philippines \u2013 \u00a0The controversial \u00a0Reproductive\u00a0 Health\u00a0 is now just\u00a0 a step away from becoming a law after the Senate\u00a0 ratified\u00a0 the measure on\u00a0 Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n

Eleven\u00a0senators\u00a0 adopted the\u00a0 bicameral committee report\u00a0 on\u00a0\u00a0 the\u00a0 bill\u00a0\u00a0 while five senators reiterated\u00a0 their \u00a0vote\u00a0 against\u00a0 it.<\/p>\n\n

The\u00a011 senators were Pia Cayetano,\u00a0 Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano, Joker Arroyo, Edgardo Angara, Franklin Drilon, Miriam Defensor Santiago, Teofisto Guingona III, Ferdinand \u201cBong-Bong\u201d Marcos Jr., Loren Legarda, Panfilo \u201cPing\u201d Lacson, and Sergio Osmena III.<\/p>\n\n

Osmena was sick\u00a0and could not vote on the bill when the Senate\u00a0 voted on it on third and final reading last Monday.<\/p>\n\n

The five who reiterated their \u2018no vote\u2019\u00a0were Senate President Juan Ponce-Enrile,\u00a0 Senate Pro Tempore\u00a0 Jose \u201cJinggoy Estrada, Majority Leader\u00a0 Vicente \u201cTito\u201d Sotto III, and Senators\u00a0 Aquilino \u201cKoko\u201d Pimentel III and\u00a0 Gringo\u00a0 Honasan.<\/p>\n\n

It was\u00a0 Senator\u00a0 Pia Cayetano, head of the\u00a0 Senate committee on health, and\u00a0 on women , who reported\u00a0 on the floor the\u00a0 outcome of the bicameral meeting held hours before the ratification.<\/p>\n\n
