\"\"<\/a>MANILA, Philippines\u2014 More than 1, 000 passengers were stranded\u00a0 Saturday in Central Visyas\u00a0 due to tropical depression \u201cCaloy,\u201d the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.<\/p>\n\n

Thirty-three vessels and one motor banca was stranded \u00a0in the ports of Visayas, it said.<\/p>\n\n

The PCG said its units had been placed on heightened alert “to respond to any emergency situation.”<\/p>\n\n

The Department of Transportation and Communication\u00a0 (DOTC), meanwhile said, four flights of Cebu Pacific had been cancelled.<\/p>\n\n
