MANILA, Philippines\u2014The Quezon City government is showing its support for \u201cPinoy Pride\u201d by approving a tax cut for Filipino artists and productions.<\/p>\n\n
Mayor Herbert Bautista recently signed into law an ordinance that reduced by 3 percent the amusement tax levied on live performances.<\/p>\n\n
From 8 percent, the city government would collect just 5 percent of the gross revenues from admission fees for concerts, plays, fashion shows and other live shows held in Quezon City.<\/p>\n\n
Ordinance No. 2348 authored by Councilor Eufemio Lagumbay amended item II, Section 39, Article 15 of the city revenue code which touched on amusement taxes.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
