Senator Grace Poe is considering changing the schedule of the reopening of the Senate probe on the Mamasapano incident from its original schedule on January 25, 2016 to another date to pave the way for the commemoration of the 44 fallen Special Action Force (SAF) men.

Poe, who is leading the Senate probe as chair of the committee on public order, initially set the reopening of the probe on January 25, 2016 or exactly a year after the deadly police operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.

On Monday, Poe said she would also clarify the votes of the Senate committee on rules, which decided to return the findings to the committee level upon the request of Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile.

Poe’s committee, along with two other committees — peace, unification and reconciliation, and finance — had already came up with a report, among them was finding President Benigno Aquino III “ultimately responsible” for the incident.

She noted that the decision of the rules committee to return the report was released to the media, but her office has not yet received it.

Kailangan naman maging maayos at transparent ‘yon,” Poe said.

“Sa tingin ko, ito’y matutuloy pero kinakailangan talaga on the record lahat po ‘yan, kasi wala po sa transcript namin…”

This, she said, would dispel allegations that the reopening of the investigation was politically motivated and that it was decided by only one person.
