A veteran broadcaster, Alhaji Abolade Salami who happen to be the Group General Manager of Fresh FM Nigeria has disassociate himself from a publication that he has been appointed as member of the media and publicity committee for re-election of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
In a statement release by the Ace Broadcaster on Thursday night, Alhaji Abolade said he has not at any time applied to serve as a member of the media and publicity committee to campaign for the 2nd term of Gov. Seyi Makinde.
Alhaji Abolade now urged members of the public to disregard any publication pertaining to such.
The publication which he personally signed read thus:
“My attention has been drawn to a publication on the social media that i have been appointed as a member of the media and publicity committee for the re-election of Gov. Seyi makinde and i hereby declined the offer due to my position as a serving media executive with the in-depth knowledge of the ethics of my profession.
“I am not a member of any committee whatsoever set up by the Oyo State Governor, Engnr Seyi Makinde or any political activities in any form. I am not a member of any political party and neither am i involved in any political activities in any way.
“with a practice spanning over four decades, I am a seasoned professional, and broadcast journalist of note without any partisan relationship of any kind with any political party while I strictly observed the code and ethics of our profession which forbid partisanship and political leaning.
The Fresh FM radio station which I work for has a strong policy on objectivity and non-partisanship in its entire operation and would never sacrifice that for anything.
The general public is hereby advised to disregard the falsehood already trending in the social media and take it with a pinch of salt as i am not permitted by my professional calling to be partisan.
