A quiz competition is set to hit the soil of Ibadan, capital of Oyo State on Thursday 3rd November,2022.
The competition births JOURNALIST OLAWALE OGUNBUSOLA SCHOOL COMPETITION is a project conceived by an Ibadan- based fast growing broadcast journalist who currently works with King103.9FM Ibadan as a reporter, editor and presenter with a popular radio family show “LIFE CORNER” said his intention is to maintain good educational system towards achieving a thriving and morally sound future generation; noted that good education calls for concerted effort.
Olawale Ogunbusola, with the air name ” Mr Aseyori” added that the project will be an annual event , meant largely for students in junior and senior secondary schools with its first edition designed for students of JS3 and SS2 this year.
While at a pre- competition chat with newsmen on Sunday, he stressed that the project will hail brilliant records and dynamisms in the history of competition in Nigeria
” I want to accolade the government of Oyo State for its efforts at upping the standard of Education in the state, largely,by enabling suitable environment which births formal free education and employment of five thousand teachers
” Yet ,an individual does not succeed bearing loads , as the elders say, meaning , that there is a need for individuals as well to partner with the government towards having a progressive state
” To have come out this time with this socio-educational project is in tandem with the set educational goal of the present led administration in Oyo state led by Governor Seyi Makinde
” I will forever be grateful to the Ministry of Education in Oyo state, under Hon. Commissioner ,Abdulramon Abdulrahim for approving the project which naturally ought to have been held on Thursday 4th August, 2022 at LEADCITY University,Ibadan but could not due to some reasons which include official joining King103.9FM from IBR92.5FM towards the close of June ; school vacation and related logistics , all of which have been put under control
” As a matter of fact, the government is aware of now readiness to hold the event as never to put the dignity of of the state into disrepute; if failed to stage it, this year”, he said.
Olawale Ogunbusola, is a seasoned educationist and broadcast journalist, who has written over thirty (30) literary works, with over nine of them published ,some of which are Too Late To Regret, Jane, the Hunter, Tortoise and Torture, Tortoise the Bald, Fantasy, Fadedness, Is this Where we have been to? among others.
The event as announced by the Convener as signed by the chairman, organising committee, Adewuyi Adeyeye will hold on Thursday 3rd November,2022 at National Museum of Unity, Aleshinloye Ibadan at 9 0′ clock in the morning , to be chaired by deputy majority Leader and member representing Egbeda State Constituency with plenty of freshly arranged lectures to be delivered by educationist, technocrats, politicians and media gurus from both public and private institutions in the country, the centrepiece of the day, quiz competition, awards and merriments.
It was gathered that the event will have in attendance the state director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) ,Oyo State Chapter, Mr Kayode Odedokun; some principal legislative officers of the Oyo State House of Assembly including the speaker, Rt. Hon.Adebo Ogundoyin, deputy majority leader and a member representing Egbeda State Constituency, Hon. Olasunkanmi Babalola, deputy chief whip and a member representing, Ibadan south west 1, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi;Hon. Rasaq Mabaje-,Ido state Constituency; Hon. Kazeem Olayanju,Irepo/Orelope State Constituency; deputy director, National Museum,Ibadan,Mrs Oriyomi Pamela Otuka; General Manager,King FM Ibadan, Pastor Kayode Akinsola; principal lecturer, Department of Educational Psychology and Counselling, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo, Dr. Oyekola Oyelade, an English Lecturer, University of Ibadan, Dr Charles Akinsete, Mr Dele Akinbode, proprietor, Benevolence Publishers,Nigeria;Assistant chief Nursing officer, Jericho Specialist Hospital, Ibadan, Mrs Hannah Oyetayo; a Zonal Editorial Head, Oyo State, Vanguard Newspaper, Mr Adeola Badru, Mr. Olawale Akinselure,Nigerian Tribune, and other veteran and famous journalists in Oyo State.
The event is believed to be moderated by three popular broadcast journalists in Ibadan , two of whom are male and the other is female

” In short, students in participation will enjoy like no other , such as access to bogus cash prize which I will not announce now for the case of suspense, free foods…
” Yet, the project is brain tasking with the goal of engineering competence, confidence and exposure in the participating students”, he added.
The event is meant for the randomly selected twenty (20) secondary schools from within five local government areas in Ibadan ; four ,each from the selected areas; that is Egbeda, Lagelu, Ibadan North, Ibadan Southwest I and Ibadan south East which affects the prestigious Boys High School,Oke Bola; CHS Ogungbade; St Teresa’s College,Molete; Urban Day Grammar School, Old Ife Road, Ibadan, Oba Akinbiyi Model School, Mokola,Ibadan, Valencia college, Aseyori Schools, Ibadan,Monatan High School,Iyalode ,Ibadan, Rosebud Schools,Wofun, Ibadan, Sunshine Diamond College, Ologuneru,Ibadan, Wesley College of Science,Elekuro, Anglican Commercial Grammar School, Total Garden and so on.
