The National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC government as a matter of urgency, to carry out a comprehensive reform the police and uphold the rule of law.
The National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, made the call in Ibadan when he led other PDP chieftains to pay a condolence visit to governor Seyi Makinde over the demise of his mother.
Secondus, while addressing newsmen at the Ikolaba GRA residence of governor Seyi Makinde, said the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) is in full support of the agitation of the youths including the recent EndSARS and NoSwat protest across the Federation.
According to him, the federal government should compensate those that were brutalised during the protest, as well as the families of those who lost their lives during the protest.
In a similar manner, the deputy governor of Oyo state, engineer Rauf Olaniyan, narrated how he was harassed twice by the officers and men of the now-defunct Special Anti-robbery Squad, SARS, therefore, called for more training and re-training of all the officers and men of the Nigerian police force to enable them relate well with the society and be more professional in conduct.
We also got the hint that the proposed Peaceful Concert slated to hold at 7:00 PM today, at the front gate of the Oyo State Government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan by the #EndSARS protesters has been canceled.
