LOOK: Underwear as campaign souvenir?
MANILA, Philippines — Politicians distributing giveaways is nothing new, but netizens couldn’t get enough of a viral post showing a rather unusual souvenir for constituents supposedly from a city councilor.
A netizen named Aica Abarabar shared photos of an underwear bearing the name of a local politician in a Facebook post on Tuesday. She captioned her post: “Thank you po sa bago kong panty. #blessed.”
“Inoffer ng friend ko sakin coz it’s not her size. To my surprise may print pala sya sa likod,” Abarabar told in a Facebook message on Wednesday.
Abarabar said she received more than 2,500 friend requests after posting the snapshot of the underwear.
“Luh 400+ friend request? Makikihingi kayo ng panty noh? Edit: 2500+ na. huhu,” she wrote Tuesday night.
She then shared her realizations after her post went viral: “1. Masayahin ang pinoy 2. They think I’m a happy person 3. Ako ang sagot sa malungkot nilang araw 4. Naghahanap sila ng jowa 5. Inaadd nila ako kasi feeling nila no. 2, 3, 4 ako.”

Another netizen, however, somewhat commended the councilor for purportedly giving away undies: “Matalino, mapapakinabahangan talaga ng mga nabigyan.”
Abarabar’s Facebook post has so far garnered more than 38,000 shares, was liked at least 36,500 times, and received no less than 7,300 comments, as of this posting. /kga
