Duterte on arrest order for Kapa leaders: It still stands

/ 07:00 PM June 13, 2019

GENERAL SANTOS CITY—President Rodrigo Duterte continued to lash at a religious group which he ordered closed for operating what the President said was a pyramid scam, warning land reform beneficiaries here against dealing with the group, Kabus Padataon Ministry International Inc. or Kapa.

Using sarcasm, Duterte told the beneficiaries who received land titles from him during a ceremony at the Logao Gymnasium: “You now have land titles now, so just sell these and invest in Kapa.”

The statement drew laughter from the crowd.

As Duterte spoke, Kapa founder Pastor Joel Apolinario was in another venue trying to convince his followers to wait for the President to arrive, which was apparently false because a schedule released by Malacanang did not mention anything about Duterte dropping by the Kapa rally.Apolinario also told his followers at the rally that Duterte had approved Kapa operations, another false claim.
