MANILA, Philippines – The southwest monsoon or “habagat” will bring isolated rains across Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.

Pagasa weather specialist Gener Quitlong said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) region and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan in Central Luzon.

Cloudy skies with localized thunderstorms are expected to prevail in the afternoon over the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila.

“Kaunting ingat lamang po dahil kung ang lugar natin ay matapatan ng thunderstorm, malakas na ulan na may pagbugso ng hangin ang maaaring maranasan,” Quitlong said.
