P16.6-M ‘shabu’ seized from Dumaguete pusher

MANILA, Philippines ––  Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have recovered around P16.6 million worth of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from a suspected big-time drug dealer in Dumaguete City.

PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino reported on Friday the arrest by agents of PDEA Regional Office VII of Jake Lester Esquillona and the recovery of around 2,000 grams of illegal drugs in a buy-bust at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Camanjac.

Also recovered from the suspect was a Suzuki motorcycle and a mobile phone as evidence.

Aquino said the suspect would face a case for selling illegal drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./lzb
