On our 34th, a bumper crop of awards
This year has been exceptionally rewarding for the Inquirer: 31 awards on our 34th year, for comprehensive news coverage, compelling human interest stories and riveting photos from different award-giving bodies.
The latest harvest of distinction brings to 622 the total number of awards the Inquirer has received since it started delivering the news in 1985.
The year 2019 was bookended by the Inquirer being recognized as the country’s best newspaper: by the De La Salle Araneta University in January and in late November, by the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP).
The Inquirer was also named ºÚÁÏÉçpaper of the Year by the Rotary Club of Manila, as well as Best Broadsheet by the Lyceum of the Philippines University and the Alta Media Icon Awards.
It also brought home top honors in the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA), winning in all print categories where it had entries.
For the fifth time, the Economic Journalists Association of the Philippines (Ejap) cited the Inquirer as Best Business ºÚÁÏÉç Source.
