Boy drowns while swimming in river in Ormoc village

ORMOC CITY –– A 6-year-old boy drowned while swimming in the river in Sitio Lunas Purok 7, Barangay Can-untog here about 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3.

The investigation showed that John Claude Toledo fell on a deep portion of the river.

Police Major Alvin Shevert Machete, chief of the Police Station 1, said the victim was accompanied by his two sisters, both of them minors, when the incident happened.

Toledo was rushed to the hospital, but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
