COVID-19 cases in House of Representatives now at 36

MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives recorded Tuesday two new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total cases among its personnel to 36.

House Secretary-General Jose Luis Montale’s said the two employees are spouses assigned at two different offices.

Montales said one is assigned at the Human Resources Management Services, who reported for work on July 22, 29, and 30, and got tested after experiencing colds while the other is assigned at the Accounting Service who reported for work on July 29 and 30.

Contact tracing is underway, said Montales.

As of August 4, there are 112,593 COVID-19 cases in the country, with recoveries at 66,049 and death toll at 2,115. [ac]
