The military said Requina was the 23rd most wanted guerrilla in an order crafted by the Department of National Defense and Department of Interior and Local Government listing rewards for the capture of NPA fighters.

Requina, the military said, was subject of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 18 in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur province.

Mindalano said Requina had been “on and off” with NPA but held several key positions in the underground rebel movement for years.

Requina had been “inactive” in NPA since 2015 but was with Platoon Medic of Guerrilla Front 53 of the rebels’ Southern Mindanao regional committee prior to that.
