18 areas forecast to be under dangerous heat index on Sat (April 12)

MANILA, Philippines — Eighteen areas (18) in the country are forecast to experience the dangerous heat index category on Saturday (April 12), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Under this category where heat index ranges from 42°C to 51°C, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible while continued exposure to the sun can lead to head stroke.

In Pagasa’s 5 a.m. weather forecast, weather specialist Grace Castañeda said the following areas are set to be under dangerous heat indices:
- Sangley Point, Cavite City, Cavite (45°C)
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan (44°C)
- Isabela State University – Echague, Isabela (43°C)
- Tarlac Agricultural University – Camiling, Tarlac (43°C)
- Ambulong, Tanauan, Batangas (43°C)
- Iloilo City, Iloilo (43°C)
- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (42°C)
- Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo City (42°C)
- San Ildefonso, Bulacan (42°C)
- Infanta, Quezon (42°C)
- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro (42°C)
- Cuyo, Palawan (42°C)
- Virac, Catanduanes (42°C)
- Masbate City (42°C)
- Roxas City, Capiz (42°C)
- Dumangas, Iloilo (42°C)
- Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte (42°C)
- Metro Manila (Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay and Science Garden in Quezon City) (41°C to 42°C)
Castañeda advised the public to stay hydrated and limit exposure to the sun, as much as possible.

She also pointed out that Sangley Point in Cavite City and Dagupan City in Pangasinan peaked at the highest computed index on Friday at 45°C.
